BROTHER SEAN KELLY, GUEST SPEAKER  

75TH BIENNIAL AOH/LAOH OHIO STATE CONVENTION

 

BOARDMAN, OH. – Brother Sean Kelly, Ballinamore, County Leitrim, Ireland is the Guest Speaker at the 75th Biennial State of Ohio Ancient Order of Hibernians Convention Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 0:00 a.m. at the Holiday Inn, Boardman, OH.

 

Brother Kelly is in Ohio for the month of July serving as a counselor for the Youngstown Ulster Project. He is a member of the order of the Capuchin Franciscans.

He currently lives in Belfast, Ireland where he is doing pastoral work for the sick

and homeless people of the city. He is also serving as counselor for the Ulster Project

in Ireland.

 

Brother Kelly has been actively involved with youth groups for many years, in particular The National Youth Development Organization in Leitrim, Ireland. He will be returning to Dublin, Ireland in September to complete his studies in Theology and Philosophy at All Hallows College.

 

The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) is a Catholic, Irish American Fraternal Organization founded in New York City on May 4, 1836. The Order can trace its roots back to a parent organization which has existed in Ireland for over 300 years. Active across the United States, the AOH seeks to foster and preserve Irish culture. The AOH has been at the political forefront for issues concerning the Catholic faith and Irish heritage issues such as; Immigration Reform, economic incentives, human rights issues, and a peaceful and just solution to the issues that divide Ireland.
